An upper middle class/wealthy town just south of San Francisco, and what it means to me personally represented in these two paintings.
Burlingame is safety, privacy, and isolation. While comforting, there is also a looming darkness. One that speaks to the absence of real community in favor of the illusion of peace.
While there is deep love here, there is also deep fear.
